A solid wood top, of great thickness and size, carries with it an almost primal physical presence.
To support it, a structural system is required that can exert an equivalent force, without replicating its mass.
From this arises a structure that looks to the vegetal world and, in particular, to the silent intelligence of roots: systems that expand, branch out, and become rarefied, concentrating matter and resistance where needed and leaving voids where matter is unnecessary.
A logic of natural optimization, in which maximum structural efficiency coincides with the minimum quantity of matter.
In the table, this logic is made visible.
The support is not hidden, but transformed into an essential geometry, almost a drawing in space: a network of slender elements that branches beneath the large wooden surface, making its weight legible precisely through the contrast with its own lightness.
The structure thus becomes a kind of inverted root system: no longer concealed in the earth, but exposed to the gaze.
Its transparent geometries support without invading, become rarefied without losing strength and, precisely through their slenderness, enhance the massive, compact, and impenetrable quality of the top.
It is in the relationship between these two conditions — mass and rarefaction, strength and lightness, solid and void — that the table finds its identity.
