ARTCIRCLE is an art and design project promoted by INSILVIS and coordinated by Massimiliano Pavon.
Created with the aim of establishing a dialogue between art design and artistic craftsmanship, it is in keeping with the finest Italian cultural tradition.
The project involves creating artistic design objects with a specific function.
Each piece is handmade in limited quantities and reinterpreted by each artist as a unique, numbered and unrepeatable creation.
The artists involved in the initial phase are either teachers at the prestigious Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli in Spilimbergo or professionals who were trained there.
This explains why many of the artistic interpretations draw on techniques, materials and sensibilities typical of the art of mosaic.
Spilimbergo, a charming medieval town on the right bank of the Tagliamento River in Friuli Venezia Giulia in north-eastern Italy, represents the cultural and territorial context in which the project has its roots.
The first item in the ARTCIRCLE collection is a circular, wall-mounted coat rack made entirely of AISI 304 stainless steel.
The essential and symbolic nature of the circle inspired the project's name: ART CIRCLE.
The name actually has a double meaning.
On the one hand, it refers to the artistic circle as a community of friends and colleagues united by a shared vision and creative interests.
On the other hand, it refers to the circle as a geometric and symbolic shape — an emblem of harmony, continuity, and completeness in art and creativity.
Unique, numbered pieces interpreting these ideas are already available, created by artists Cristina De Leoni, Stefano Jus and Luca Nardini, who are all teachers at the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli.
